A.P.C Rescue: Update Pictures

They got washed last week because they getting a little grimy and smelly. Not a whole of wear since the last picture post, a few days here and there when it gets really hot and humid. These pictures are all in natural sunlight with no flash, so the colour is the true colour. This is the third wash in cold water with detergent (this does not include the initial hot soak i did to get the length skrinkage out of the way).

These are not too heavy on the crotch whiskers because they're really loose. However, the leg whiskers and lap fade are coming along very well. The lap on this pair (pre-wash) was getting a bit of a greenish tint to them that must have been dirt and sweat. There is much heavier wear on one side because of my courier bag, which illustrates the asymmetry you can get with the wear on a raw pair of jeans versus a manufactured finish.

The lap fad on this pair might have a lot to do with them being a warm weather jean this and last summer. I think the sweat from the thighs gets absorbed into the denim and it loosens the indigo dye from the fibers from the underside. I didn't see as much lap fad on the sugarcane '55. Even with this pair of Rescues i'm breaking in right now it doesn't look like there will be a really heavy lap fade -- compared to these ones. While there could be differences in how much wear the lap gets, right now the most apparent difference i can see in how i'm wearing them is that my new rescues get benched when it gets too hot. It'll be interesting to compare the two pairs, once the new pair is broken in and washed.

You can see the wallet fade on the back pocket. Also the honeycombs behind the knees have also come in quite well.

I don't have any ankle honeycombs -- i think the denim is too light and not stiff enough to get them well developed. The fades you near the hems are primarily the effects of getting caught in the rain when I first started wearing them.
